Ethical, Inclusive, Strategic, & Sustainable Thinking: Knowledge in this area involves the requisite frameworks through which to make ethical, inclusive, strategic, and sustainable decisions. Skills involve the ability to think critically in analyzing workplace and ethical dilemmas, socially (ir)responsible behaviors, and formulate and implement strategies.
Culture: Knowledge here includes the components of an organization’s culture, recognizing cross-cultural differences, awareness of socialized biases in the workplace, and understanding organizational approaches to managing diverse cultures. Skills include the ability to perform an organizational culture audit, develop inclusive organizational practices, and further your personal ability to engage in empathy and perspective-taking across cultural differences.
Interpersonal/Relational: Knowledge areas here involve an understanding of approaches to conflict management, including bystander interventions, and what it means to have emotional and social intelligence. Skills include conflict management styles, emotional and social intelligence, and self-awareness practices.
- Communication: Ability to effectively express your thoughts, ideas, and messages to diverse people in oral and written form. Public speaking skills and ability to write/edit emails, letters, and technical reports.
- Conflict Management: Ability to manage conflict.
- Emotional Intelligence: Ability to monitor your emotions and those of others, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide your thinking and behavior.
- Professional Skills: Accountability and positive work habits such as punctuality, time management, appropriate dress and appearance, and willingness to go beyond a job description or ask for help when needed. Demonstrated integrity, ethical behavior, and concern for the greater good.
- Self-Awareness: A realistic view of your strengths and weaknesses relative to a specific job and context, and the ability to create and implement a personal development plan.

Leadership/Influence: Knowledge here involves an understanding of motivational theories and a variety of leadership styles and approaches, including ethical, inclusive, network, and socially responsible ones. Skills include the ability to motivate, coach, and develop others, as well as influence a group of people to achieve common goals, and implement organizational strategies and change.
Managerial Functions: Knowledge and skills here involve a variety of functionally-oriented tasks, including human capital management, negotiations, benchmarking, and business process improvements.
Teamwork/Collaboration: Knowledge here includes an understanding of the drivers of team effectiveness and team-level approaches to managing diversity. Skills include the ability to work in teams, collaborate with others, and build inclusive teams.
Understanding the Business Environment: Knowledge here includes developing an understanding of corporate and business strategy, corporate social responsibility, and the societal impact of business. Skills include being able to conduct industry and macro-trend analyses and formulating sustainability strategies.
