Opportunities in the Classroom and Beyond

In addition to general education Penn State courses at the start of your career as an undergraduate business student, you will also complete the Smeal First-Year Seminar and a series of core business foundation courses prior to transitioning into your major. Helping you to navigate the educational opportunities at one of the nation’s largest business schools, our academic advisers work with you from day one to help you select courses and pursue your academic goals.

As a complement to your coursework, take a leadership role in one of our major-specific or diversity student organizations, study abroad, or take part in a research project. In whatever ways you choose to tailor your educational experience, you will have an abundance of resources and support from Smeal faculty, advising staff, and fellow students.

GETTING INVOLVED
Student organizations such as the Nittany Lion Fund, a $7 million hedge fund run exclusively by Smeal undergraduate students, help students to expand upon coursework in their major by applying principles learned in the classroom to real-world business scenarios.
