Your investment in your university education is a significant financial decision that requires careful advanced planning. The following information will help you estimate the cost of your Smeal education and anticipate deadlines for aid and scholarship applications.

Penn State Tuition

Visit the Undergraduate Admissions website for the information you need on tuition and costs at the University. The site also includes a calculator to determine your own personal tuition estimate.

Financial Aid

The Office of Student Aid also handles all student loans, grants, scholarships, and aid available to Penn State students. To be eligible for student aid, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form before February 15 each year. Some forms of aid will no longer be available to those who apply after February 15.

Room and Board

Information on housing and residence life is available on the Undergraduate Admissions website. This includes info on different types of housing, dining options, and meals plans available at the University, along with costs.

Scholarships

Thanks to generous Penn State alumni and friends, Smeal is able to award scholarships to hundreds of students every year. These include need and merit-based scholarships. To be considered for a scholarship, completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is required.
